Longer Weight Distribution Shank for Helping with Tailgate Clearance

Question:

I have this shank on my equalizer, kit 600, What does 7inch rise and 3 drop mean?. I would like the shank to be longer so I can open my tailgate. Wick shank would you recommend, same but longer. The numbers you mentioned are related to the height setting of the weight distribution system and not the length you are asking about which would give you more tailgate clearance. For a similar shank that would give you more clearance you'd want the part # C17122 which is compatible with the system you have now and is 14 inches long where it counts instead of 8 inches like the shank you have now.
