Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're going to be taking a quick look at the ball platform lock for your Curt Rebellion ball mount.Now, this lock is going to be specific to the Curt Rebellion. It works with the existing pins that come with that ball platform to make sure that nobody can run off with them or mess with the adjustment on that ball. So let's take a closer look at how it's going to work and what you actually get in the kit. This I just have for an example to help show what it's going to look like when you have it installed. This is going to be our actual lock here.

It's just going to be this little aluminum piece that goes over the ends of those pins. It comes with two keys to unlock it, and it has a barrel style lock, which is harder for anybody to pick so harder for anybody to get access to it.It has a visual indicator of whenever it's locked versus unlocked, so when you see this silver portion is out, you'll know it's unlocked, and when it's flat or flush against the rest of that barrel, it's locked. So, the key doesn't come out until you turn it into the locked position. You can kind of fool it. If you press in, you can get it to turn, so be aware of that, but this will stay out unless it's locked.

So, that's something I like to see to help make sure that you don't actually try to lock it and then run off without it being locked on there. But it's just a channel that goes over the ends of those pins. It doesn't come with these guys. That comes on your Curt ball mount.It's got a little edge to it, or a little angle to the bottom there to match with the ball platform. It's made of aluminum, so it's going to be rust-proof, really long-lasting, lightweight, but still durable.

The overall length of this piece is about 4" long and about 1" wide at the barrel or at the locking mechanism. It's about 1-7/8", and then about 1-1/8" wide. So, 1-7/8" and 1-1/8".It is covered by a limited lifetime warranty, and that really about does it for our look at the ball platform lock for your Curt Rebellion ball mount.
