Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a look at this Gen-Y Hitch Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for your Ford OEM Puck Systems. This gooseneck hitch adapter is going to work with your 2017 and newer Ford factory puck systems, giving you a five inch offset for additional clearance between your truck bed and trailer. And that clearance is going to be great in allowing you to make sharper turns when you are hooked up to your trailer and also to fully allow you to open your truck bed while you are still hooked up to your trailer. Also, the design of this adapter is not going to take up any added bulk in your truck bed and the simple design is going to leave extra room in your truck bed for other gear. Now this does have a ball size of 2-5/16".
This has a weight capacity of 25,000 pounds and this is a quick and easy installation into your Ford's OEM puck system. You're gonna be able to switch out your current ball mount in seconds and I want to just kind of walk you through, just kind of showing you how easy it is to install this. So I'm gonna remove my block here just for a minute to give me a little bit more leverage to pull up on this T handle. It's obviously going to be easier when you have this down on your truck bed before you're ready to install. So I'm gonna go ahead and remove this safety pin and then you're just going to lift up this T handle and give it a quarter turn, just like that.
And what that does is that disengages the spring loaded balls there, and I'm gonna go ahead and replace my block. And then you're just going to simply drop this stem into your Ford's gooseneck pocket in your truck bed. And of course these points here will drop into your pucks in the truck bed. And once you have this inserted into the gooseneck ball hole, the gooseneck pocket and it's fully inserted, you're just going to turn this T handle another quarter of a turn, and that's going to reengage those spring loaded balls. And then just replace the safety pin like that and you are good to go.
I wanna put a picture on your screen just showing you what one of these looks like installed in a truck bed. So that kind of gives you an idea of what this is going to look like. And then I'm also going to retrieve my ruler here and measure from the center of our stem to the center of our ball and lining that up, as you can see, that offset is five inches. So this is made here in the USA of a powder coated durable steel construction. So this is going to do a great job of resisting corrosion.
This is a Gen-Y product and as you probably know, Gen-Y is known for making very strong, durable, robust products and this adapter is no exception. This does have a limited lifetime warranty. So if you are looking for an adapter that will give you a five inch offset for additional clearance between your truck bed and trailer, and will easily fit into your 2017 and newer Ford factory puck systems, then this is going to be a great adapter for you to consider.
