Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Fat Bike Adapter Kit for Curt platform bike racks, part number C18091. This kit is going to allow you to take your Curt two or four platform style bike rack and adapt it to carry fat tire bikes. It comes with two cradles that will carry a tire up to 4 7/8 inches wide. It's going to replace your existing cradles, but hang on to these because you can easily swap them when not carry fat tire bikes. It has the same finish and style as our existing bike rack, so it's going to fit in seamlessly. Now that we've got all the features, I'll go ahead and show you how easy these are to get installed.
Now, you're going to get two cradles per kit. You want to be sure and pick up one kit for each fat tire bike you have. First thing we can do is go ahead and loosen up our standard bike cradle. We're going to slide that off, then we'll take our fat bike cradle, be sure that it's loosened up, then we'll slide it on to however the size of our wheelbase is, and then tighten it up. For the opposite side, it's not a bad idea to stagger your cradles. That way, one set of cradles is not trapped on the inside.
Now, loading up our fat tire bike is just as easy as loading up a regular bike. We'll just set it in the cradles and then lower down our center hook. Great. Now, we can just load the rest of our bikes the way we normally would. That's going to complete our look at the Curt Fat Bike Adapter Kit for Curt platform bike racks, part number C18091..

Did exactly what I needed them to do, as I needed to replace one set off my bike rack to accommodate a fat tire bike. They work like a champ!
I originally purchased my trailer hitch bike rack that handles standard size tire bikes. Recently I purchased a fat bike and my rack would not accommodate the large tires. Enter Etrailer, they sell fat tire rack adapters that slide right on my bike rack. That saved me from buying a new bike rack.

These have worked great for me. Ive upgraded my bike rack so no longer using them.
This is not the item I ordered. The hoops are 3 inches wide.The item I ordered was hoops four and seven eighth inch wide to fit a fat tire bike. I'm very disappointed

Perfect fit for my existing bike rack. I would recommend a velcro strap for securing the bike wheel to the adapter.

It works quite well. I use it for my Aventon Aventure E-Bike which weighs about 80lbs.
I got these to use on my swagman rack, and they fit OK, but are loose fitting. I was able to get them to fit tight by using 1/16 inch flat metal as shims. However, the hoops have a plastic sleeve so it is not a solid connection and have some give with the weight of 2 bikes on them. I suspect this would be true if they are used on a curt rack also. One of the hoops is welded at not a perfect 90 degree angle, so it droops a little.

Actually, the wheel hoops dont need to be super-locked down tight. As long as theyre snug enough to stay in place, youll be good to go.
Hold bike well but do both tighten fully on the cross bar of my Swagman carrier. Need to retoghten after every use.

Needed replacement tire loops for the 4" wide fat tire bike. The Hollywood bike carrier I had only worked on the 2" width tires. Now have option for both widths of bike tire. Very easy to install and works great!

The hole is two large for my bars but I can adapt them I am sure by putting tape around my bars.
