Today we're going to take a look at the Replacement Base for the BMW Patriot Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch. Has an 18,000 pound weight capacity. Now this replacement base will fit the BMW Patriot Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch and allows you to attach your fifth wheel hitch to the rails in your truck-bed. I've already bolted these pivot arms to the base. These are adjustable to let you mount your hitch head to fit your application. Your hitch head will drop right on top of these polyurethane bushings and basically depending on where you mount these pivot arms there's multiple holes in the side of this base, so depending where you mount it you can move these arms fore or aft to improve cab clearance.
Gives you about 4 inches of range from front to back adjustment and depending on which row of holes you can also raise or lower your hitch with 4 different hitch height settings anywhere from about 16 inches up to 19 inches. Now these polyurethane bushings this is what the head will sit on. Now the head we do sell separately, it's part number DWRVC3200. We sell that on our website separately. Now you can also buy the base with the head as a complete kit and that's part number BWRVK3255. Basically it's a very quick simple installation you can drop the head right on here and then this will drop right into the rails that are in your truck-bed.
It is compatible with industry standard above bed base rails. If you need those we do sell those separately also. It will include the 4 pins and clips for attaching this hitch to the rails. This whole base is a steel construction, has a nice grey powder-coat finish on it which is corrosion resistant. It is made in the USA. Again a few specks on this base, the gross towing weight is 18,000 pounds as I mentioned when you bolt these pivot arms you have a range of hitch height adjustment from 16 inches to 19 inches. Just to give you an idea of the complete footprint of what this will take up in your truck-bed, you can see the overall width is 31 and a 1/2 inches wide and the depth is 24 inches deep.
