B and w 18000 lb sliding hitch. Getting a new Chevy 8 foot bed. Don’t need sliding hitch anymore. Can my old head fit on new base?

That is dependent if you have the Companion or Patriot model and if it mount to rails or the goose neck mount type. If you do have the Patriot hitch that attaches to standard above-bed rails, then we have the Replacemen Base for B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - 18,000 lbs. # BWRVB3255 that is compatible with industry-standard, above-bed base rails.

You will have to go with a sliding hitch to allow the trailer to make tight turns. For a trailer 8 feet wide the only bed length that's going to allow 90 degree turns without a slider is a stationary hitch. That being said you have two options.…
