Installation Of An Advent Air Replacement Air Conditioner In A Dometic Setup

Question:

I bought this advent unit because it said would be a direct replacement for my dometic 15000btu I had in my rv before, but I can’t seem to get the wiring figured out is there a how to video or wiring diagram on how to switch them over while still using my dometic stuff in my rv

A typical RV air conditioner rooftop unit is going to have a wire harness that hangs down and plugs into a controller. Most of the time the controller is mounted to the air distribution box, in between it and the rooftop unit, but some times it gets mounted inside of the rooftop unit. If this is the case then you'll have to remove the controller and find a way to mount it to your air distribution box. You can typically find a couple of smaller mounting brackets at your local hardware store to connect it to your air distribution box.

The wire harness for the rooftop unit on the # ACM150B has a 6-pin connect that will plug into the controller, however if your controller has a 9-pin you'll need to use an adapter # ACCOLKIT to connect to the controller. The connectors are designed to only plug in one way so that you can't accidentally connect them incorrectly. If you want to send in some pictures of what you have going on so far then I'd be happy to take a look and troubleshoot the installation further.
