Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2003 Ford F-150 Towing 20 Ft Grady White

Question:

Hi, I have a ford f150-03 crew cab with a broken trailer hitch. It has 4 bolts per side into the frame. The recommended replacement from your site has 3 bolts per side. Do you know of a 4 bolt per side replacement? If not, do you know if the 3 bolt per side pattern will line up with 3 of the 4 existing holes? Lastly, I tow a 20foot grady white. What class hitch would you recommend Thank you

The B and W Class V Trailer Hitch, # BWHDRH24400, which is designed for your 2003 Ford F-150 has four mounting holes on each side but according to the installation instructions, only three of those holes are used. This hitch bolts directly to the frame of your F-150 and there is no drilling or welding required to install this hitch. You will most likely use the same holes in the frame to install this hitch as the ones that were previously used for the hitch that is being replaced. I have attached the installation instructions for you.

When it comes to recommending which class of hitch to use, I always recommend going with the highest class hitch available for your vehicle. Although you are bound by the towing capacity of the vehicle, going with a hitch with a much higher towing capacity just gives me added piece of mind knowing that I am using the strongest hitch available. In this case it would be a our Class V hitch which has a towing capacity of 16,000 pounds. We offer the B and W, # BWHDRH24400, that was mentioned early and the Curt Trailer Hitch, # C15303.
