Hitch Extension for Truck with In-Bed Camper that Will Allow Me to Tow Short Tongue Trailer

Question:

I have a 20foot enclosed trailer with a 2foot tongue. I also have a 10.5 foot truck camper and would like to be able to pull my trailer with the camper on the truck, but currently this is not possible due to the short tongue on my trailer. Do you have any recommendations please?

Assuming that your truck has an eight foot bed, the best solution would be to use the Titan Hitch Box Extension, # RP45292. This extension requires your truck to be equipped with a 2-1/2 inch hitch receiver and is designed to extend the receiver opening 24 or 34 inches away from the truck. At 24 inches the extender has a weight capacity of 6,000 pounds and at 34 inches, 4,500 pounds.

The longest extension/ball mount that will work with a standard 2-inch hitch is our Hidden Hitch Extra Long Ball Mount, # EA40. This ball mount measures 14-5/8 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. Using our longest extension/ball mount still would not give you a sufficient amount of clearance to safely make turns while towing your trailer.
