Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 and 7,600 Pound Travel Trailer
Question:
I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500, 2 wheel drive. I need a hitch to pull at 32foot camper. The camper weighs 7600 lbs. Which hitch do I need to purchase? That will be the heaviest thing I am going to pull with it.

For your 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 I recommend Curt trailer hitch # 14001. It is rated for 10,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 1,000 pounds tongue weight. The other available hitches are either rated too low or way over what you need. This one is just right. I have linked the instructions for you.
I also recommend etrailer ball mount kit # EBMK2416. It comes with a ball mount, 2 balls, a hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
And if you need to add a trailer wiring harness you can use # 118329 which just plugs in line 2with the truck tail light wiring. I have linked the instructions and a video for you on the wiring as well.
