Parts Needed To Wire Brake Controller From Brake Buddy Stealth To 2018 Toyota 4Runner

Question:

Im considering the Brake Buddy Stealth for my 2006 Jeep Wrangler and am actually wondering about the wiring for the controller that goes in the vehicle doing the towing. Im looking to tow using a 2018 Toyota 4Runner that has the factory 7+4 wire towing package and the plug under the dash for a brake controller. Do you have a pigtail adapter that will plug into the 4runner plug under the dash that can be wired to this controller? Additionally, it appears the plug in the 4Runner is identical to the one in my 2003 tundra with the factory 7 pin package. Is is possible the same pigtail wold work with both? I cant imagine theyd use the same plug and change the pins?

With the Brake Control # HM39533 for the Brake Buddy Stealth # HM39530 having a hardwire design you will need to modify the Pigtail # C51362 so you will be able to connect it on your 2018 Toyota 4Runner. The pigtail contains the white end which will connect on your 4Runner so you will simply need to cut off the black connector and wire the controller to the portion left on the pigtail. The wire colors will all match from the controller to the pigtail.

This pigtail uses the same connector as that which fits your 2003 Toyota Tundra with the factory 7-way. But as it involves cutting off the factory connector you likely will not want to use the same connector unless you will no longer be using it on your Tundra or for a different controller.
