According to the owners manual for your 2016 Ford Transit Connect Titanium LWB you have a maximum towing capacity of 2,000lbs with or without trailer brakes. You will also need to ensure the added tongue weight does not cause your Transit to exceed either the rear axle weight capacity or GVWR.
I recommend using the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e77AR as the 2" receiver allows for a wider selection of ball mounts and hitch mounted accessories. This receiver has a matte black finish which I find looks better and gives a more factory appearance.
For the electrical a T-One Harness # 118613 will give you a 4-way flat connector. This is the most common connector used on trailers rated 2,000lbs and under. If you have a trailer with electric brakes you will also need our 7-Way Upgrade Kit # ETBC7 and a Brake Controller # RED52VR. I prefer this Redarc as it uses a small dash mounted control knob. This will provide a clean appearance and the large control box is mounted behind the dash rather than on it like some other controllers.
