Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the access panel doors to access this harness.
Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your vehicle with this custom wiring harness. T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring. Powered converter reduces strain on wiring system.Jaimie B. was excellent with helping me select the product from start to finish.
I appreciated her honesty and knowledge of the variety of products offered. Jaimie directed me to a platform of Etrailer videos that provided easy step by step directions.
Shipping was fast as well. I will definitely recommend Etrailer to others.
worked like a charm, easy to install
Excellent service! Order arrived in Georgia in 48 hours. Everything was there and in great condition.
Running the power wire took way to long if you don’t have a lift running it under the transit connect, other than that just unplugged and plug in harness that was easy.this was for a 2015 transit connect LWB. And other part that suck was all my trailers have 7 pin connections so had to buy a conversion to 7 pin.
Product works as expected. The install videos included at etrailer are thorough, clear, and ultimately very helpful. I will say that running the wire from the rear of the vehicle to the battery was not possible for me due to low clearance without access to a stand. I had to have a mechanic do it during other routine maintenance. Makes it feel less worth the DIY attempt but so be it!
The product was perfect. Deliver hospital medical systems and chemotherapy to multiple locations. Need a trailer to handle over flow. Lights have to work. Police inspect us randomly. This outfit provides the most reliable solution available.
I purchased this particular wiring harness based on the reviews by etrailer.com. I recently installed a Curt hitch on my 2015 Ford Transit Connect and was unsure which wiring harness I should use. After watching the etrailer.com videos and harness comparison, I decided to purchase the Tekonsha brand. Installation was straight forward and the package included everything needed to complete the job. Operational test results were perfect. Thank you very much for the great product and website videos.
Harness looks great hopefully straightforward and easy to install. I just haven't got to it yet.
Installed on my 2015 transit. Overall great with only a couple observation. The video instruction would be a real pain to follow unless you have a lift to get under this van. I ran the power through the interior and through the firewall on the driver side. Much easier than getting this thing on jacks. There is a port you can use on the driver side that is just under the battery. The line to the connector should be just a bit longer but it will work. Take your time, mostly an easy install.
2015 Ford Transit Connect - very little ground clearance and no lift. Went with 4 jack stands and a creeper. I watched the etrailer video and wired it exactly the same way. Install came off without a hitch (groan). Checked with a Curt connector tester (very handy to have and only a few bucks) and all was fine. Great product and the installation video was awesome.
Not really happy that wire has to come out of back hatchway and rest between bumper and hatchway- terrible design - only thing protecting it is the rubber gasket at the hatchway - wish I knew that before I had it installed

I wanted to reach out to you in regards to your review on the wiring harness. If you are able to locate a grommet in the rear of the vehicle the it would be possible to route the wiring down out of the cargo area to under the vehicle. More than likely the grommet used would not be used large enough to route the 4-way connector itself out of the vehicle. You would probably have to cut the connector off leaving enough wire to splice the like-colored wires back together after routing the wiring down out of the cargo area and under the vehicle. If you did the splicing inside the cargo area of the vehicle the splice locations would be protected from the elements and last much longer. Once you have the wiring routed out of the vehicle to the hitch, you can use the 4-Way mounting bracket, # 18144, and the No-Drill Mount Bracket, # 18140, to mount the connector near the receiver on the hitch. I do have a video where we routed the wiring on a 2011 Toyota Sienna which you can see below. I realize that it is a diofferent vehicle however it can give an idea of what would be involved.

I am very satisfied with this wiring kit! I chose this kit over the others, because I like the way the wiring for the passenger side lights went over the doors. I felt that this method was better than running them under the cargo trim where they might get damaged by a heavy object. (It is a cargo van). Also, the four way trailer connector tucks nicely in the jack storage area. For me this is a plus, since I don't tow that often and it keeps the plug clean and dry. The quality of the kit was excellent. The wiring is exactly the right lengths and it made for a very tidy installation.
Installed, fit well, but have not towed with it yet.
Wiring kit seems sturdy enough and installation was reasonable with a few exceptions. 1. All installation videos and instructions featured cargo van models NOT passenger wagon models. There are several differences including significant additional trim and seat belts which must be removed in order to access the wiring connections. 2. A couple wiring splices are required which seem unnecessary had they given a little more thought to design - adding inline fuse and connecting main power wire. Overall, not the best product or experience I've had from etrailer but not too bad. Installation took about 2 hours with most of it dedicated to running the power wire from the back of the van to the battery up front.
This product works for me in my 2018 Ford Transit Connect Passenger Wagon. The directions and videos were helpful but not able to be exactly applied to my vehicle. I also powered it through the fuse panel located in the rear of my vehicle. It works!
Package had everything that was needed. The installation video on the web site was extremely helpful. Nice to see how it was installed on my exact vehicle. Finding the taillight connector, disconnecting it and installing the T connection of the wiring harness was a little difficult and required disconnecting the seat belt on the passenger side. Otherwise everything went smoothly. Website was great and easy to navigate. Will definitely use etrailer again.
Easy to install, clear instructions and working great, it has been installed for 4 months now with no issues.
Fairly simple installation with a good installation video. I did my install somewhat differently (Ford Transit Connect): Since my vehicle is a passenger wagon with interior panels to remove, I routed the wires under the floor trim at the rear of the van as opposed to overhead.
This wiring kit worked excellent and was very easy to install I would recommend this for your trailer wiring.
Peeeeerfect fit up every thing went as by the video pretty much plug and play I would recommend this product to anyone who need a trailer hitch. I did this by myself wit no help it was a great journey. I actually hid my wires so it looks very professional and factory looking.
Well there isn't much to report here. The wiring harness was plug and play, as advertised. Installation was both easy and simple after watching the videos featured along with the product description etrailer's website. If you spend more than 30 minutes before you start putting away your tools call etrailer they will have you on the right track in just a few minutes.
The kit installation went smoothly. The etrailer instruction video was very helpful.
The wire going to the battery was barely long enough and another few inches would have been nice, but it did work OK.
Fairly easy install. No good place to route harness out to trailer, but that's the vehicle's design drawback. Having to run a lead from the battery is a little cumbersome, especially with non-powered versions of trailer lighting converters available.
It’s well thought out and once you figure out how remove panels and run wiring for your vehicle its all plug and play other then the power wire and fuse. I wouldn’t suggest the absolute novice take this on but even minor mechanical ability and you can do it. If your going to do this in your driveway I’d suggest vehicle ramps to give yourself clearance to run the power wire.
