Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area. You will have to remove the rear scuff panel, storage trim panel, and side trim panel to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the connector, open your fuse box and locate the fuse position indicated in the instructions. Then insert the included 10-amp fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your trunk.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. This converter is a circuit-protected, battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.
Each Curt circuit board is made using high-quality components that are pieced together in the most technologically savvy fashion, leading to greater predictability and reliability in functioning.

The installation on the Honda CRV was difficult because I do not have a car lift but I was able to manage the installation by myself by following the great instructions. The wiring also proved a bit challenging and would be easier if the instructions had better photos. Considering the installation challenges I still feel this is a great product at a good price.
The Curt wiring harness C56370 fits perfect on my 2024 Honda CR-V EX FWD. The plug needed for this harness is in place on the 2024 Honda CR-V EX FWD. The only thing that was not in the instructions was adding a 20amp fuse in the fuse box holder underneath the steering wheel for the harness to work correctly.(see image) I did route the wiring harness to the outside using the rubber grommet in the tire wheel. Highly recommend cutting a slit in the grommet and reinstalling the grommet inserting the harness through it to prevent the wiring insulation getting cut through over time...
WATCH THE E-TRAILER INSTALL VIDEO (and use a panel tool). Note that the factory towing harness connector plug for a 2023 Honda CRV Hybrid is in a different place from what is shown in the video. Mine was located by the back left corner support pillar, and you don't have to remove as much paneling to access it (less than what the video shows). Like the one in the video, it still has brown tape around it. I did not cut that tape (like the video), I just plugged it in. Easy! NOTE, however, I had to put a 20 amp fuse into the internal fuse box slot #17 (trailer). This was reported in other users feedback, I did not see it in the e-trailer instructions. Once I did that all lights worked correctly. (I am glad I saw the comment!)
Wire harness came with the fuse connection not alined so very hard to install the fuse. Hard to try plugging the fuse in and di bend the fuse prongs.(hope it works)
Also the video for our hear and model for our car did not match totally since our car panels were not the same as the video, so instead of being able to zip tie the harness to hold it in place, I had to use my wife to try reaching behind the panel to plug in-the connector, while tried pulling the panel out.
If the panel would have pulled out like the video, and the fuse connection better, I would give it a 5 star rating.
Always had great dealings with etrailer.
About as simple as it gets, obviously be careful with body panels.
Only 2 notes.
1. On the 2023 CRV EX, fuse # 17 "YOP TRAILER 20AMP" needs to be added in order for harness to have power. Should probably be a install note.
2. Package seemed dusty and included double sided adhesive was no good at all like it sat in sun and lost all adhesion. Substituted some standard foam core double sided tape I had already.
Can I try to install the harness it did not work. I called your number and spoke to Melissa. She advised me to make sure a 20 amp fuse was plugged into slight 17 and bingo. It worked well. Thank you for all of your help. I really appreciate it and kudos to Melissa.
Quick delivery and product is awesome! Would recommend to anyone looking for a trailer hitch
Installation went good. The problem was with the lack of space near tail lights. Wiring was well made and instructions were very clear.
So after much trial, effort, and phone calls I believe there is now power to my trailer harness. There is a fuse panel inside the car under the dash to the left of the steering column. Unfortunately I didn't see any numbers on the panel but you need to put a 20amp fuse in slot 17. I have attached a picture of the fuse panel that points to the correct slot, it's the second slot down below a 10amp fuse in the third row down from the left. it's the first open slot of three in a row. Hopefully you can use this information for anyone with the same issue in the future.
Extremely easy install and works well. Plug and play.
The install process requires a lot more panel removing that I wanted. Not an easy install...
First time installing a hitch receiver went really well with the included instructions and videos. If I need to get another receiver this will be my place to go!
Perfect fit!

Still looks and performs like new!
2024 CRV.
Pretty straightforward install. The fish wires in the kit are a fantastic solution to holding the bolts.
Thanks!
Perfect plug and play and instructions were easy to follow!
Just what I needed for a plug-in bike carrier and to tow both small utility and sailboat trailers. It was an easy install with the provided directions being spot on! My second go round with an etrailer hitch - they do not disappoint!!
Install was on a 2024 Honda CRV Hybrid. It installed just as the related videos showed and there were no real surprises. Product fit well. Guide for cutting the rear bumper fascia and the rear underbody cover were vague though. Need to cut a hole about 3" wide and just about to the upward bend of the bumper fascia. The under body dover needs to be cut the same 3" wide to about the end of the tow hook cutout on that piece.
The installation was a piece of cake. However, finding the Honda connector taped inside the left rear quarter panel was a little testy. The etrailor videos were extremely helpful as was an installation video by [online]that I found on [online]. Etrailor includes a note on this product that says something like "easiest installation." It's true. Once you have the left rear trim apart and locate the Honda female plug, this harness is basically plug and go -- no grounding wire; no messing around with the fuses under the dashboard. Note #1: Be very careful pulling and tugging on the trim pieces, as there are little round fasteners that can fall out and get down into the bottom cracks and are not easy to find. Note #2: For an extra six bucks, buy the little trailer light tester, as you will then have assurance that everything works before putting Humpty Dumpty back together again. (By the way, Honda wanted $179 for this part, plus an hour or two for installation.) All in all -- pretty darn slick.
The Curt hitch works fine.
However, the Curt trailer light pigtail, that says it works for my Honda, shorted out my car lights. I paid over a thousand dollars to get my car fixed, and had to buy another pigtail. I called Curt about it, and he said ship the pigtail to them and they will look at it.
I did that and they did nothing.
So, I was not happy.

This wiring harness is a fit for the 2018 Honda CR-V. I did want to confirm that you used the 10 amp inline fuse in the wiring harness kit. That is very important to keep your vehicles electrical system protected.

Same. Hitch works fine, but I am still not happy that I had to spend $1000 to fix my car after the Curt pigtail messed up the wiring on my car. And yes I did use a fuse.
Very easy to install. Just plug in and voila! However, I did have to buy a 20 amp fuse for the car fuse block as it did not come with one.
Watch the video to see how to remove/loosen panels. Even they were easy.
The first one I bought did not work. I replaced it with the same thing and that one has been working as it should. I found an excellent video that showed me how to install a wiring harness for a 2017 Honda CRV. The tricky part is knowing how to take the interior trim panels off. Once the trim panels are off, it just plugs in.
On a Honda CRV 2019 there is a connector on driver side that keeps the hitch from going up in the right position so the screw holes can align up right. It took me a while to figure what was wrong. Nothing is said in the install instructions or video about it. I move the connector to another location. Everything worked great then.
Does good easy installation
Very easy to install. Video online was good.
The product is excellent and the directions were outstanding. I did need some clarification and contacted etrailer support. Mariah was thorough and professional. I couldn't ask for a cleaner fit on our 2019 CRV. The wiring harness was a bit complicated but after watching a video, the rest was a breeze.
