Option For Using Cargo Carrier While Dolly Towing
Question:
Will this hitch adapter work for towing a car on a tow dolly and having a cargo rack? How do you estimate the amount of rise needed to avoid impact on turns?

Expert Reply:
The # RM-077-6 is not meant for dolly towing, so the only option to use a cargo carrier and dolly tow is with an adapter, the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2" Receiver for Bike Racks and Cargo Carriers # D210.
This ball mount will give you 2-1/2" of drop, and to measure for the correct drop to ensure level towing, first measure from the ground to the top of your hitch receiver opening, then measure from the ground to the bottom of your dolly's coupler and get the difference. If your hitch height is greater, you'd need drop. If your coupler height is greater, you'd need a ball mount with a rise.
You have about an inch or so of wiggle room, so you could use the # D210 if your hitch height was about 2" - 3" higher than your coupler height.
