Towing a Trailer and Using a Bike Rack at the Same Time
Question:
Hello, I am looking for a dual hitch so I can carry my bike and tow my trailer. The one you have does not have a low enough neck where the ball attaches do you carry a longer neck dual hitch? If not, do you know who may carry one?

Expert Reply:
A dual hitch receiver adapter such as # MPG544 will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50 percent so I do not recommend using one.
Another option is to use the Curt ball mount # D210. On this ball mount it measures 5-13/16 inches from the ball platform to the underside of the receiver portion. I don't know if that will work for you but if it will then it is a great option since the ball mount does not reduce the tongue weight capacity of the hitch.
Another option is to use a towing bike rack. We have several options depending on your needs so I have included a link to them for you.
