Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2006 Ford E-350 Cutaway

Question:

I have a 2006 Ford E350, it’s a cutaway frame with a dusky. I need a trailer hitch for the rear to pull my camper. The width of the frame rails from outside to outside is 41.5”. If you could direct me that would be great.

You may be able to use a custom fit hitch like the Curt # 14055 you looked at. In order to determine if this would fit or not you will need to measure the bolt holes from frame to frame. If they measure 38-5/8" then this hitch will work for you. Based on that 41-1/2" measurement to the outside there is a good chance this will work.

If not, then the other option would be a more universal hitch like the # C13701. This fits frame widths from 18" - 51" which will be perfect for your application. This can be bolted to the vehicle frame or welded on for installation. If you need something with a capacity higher than 5,000 lbs you could also weld on the # C37CR. This is a Class V hitch with a 20,000 lb gross trailer weight. Keep in mind, you will be limited by the capacity of your E-350.

For wiring you can use the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56020. If you need a 7-way then you can upgrade this using the # ETBC7. If you need a ball mount as well take a look at the # 989900. It comes with two ball mounts, one with a 3/4" rise or 2" drop and the other with a 2-3/4" rise or 4" drop. It also has a 1-7/8" and 2" ball, as well as a ball mount bag to store everything in.

I have attached some installation videos for your reference.
