How Much Space Should There Be with Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops On 2007 Toyota Tacoma

Question:

2007 Toyota Tacoma/2inch lift. Have the Timbren active offroad bump stops. How much gap should i have between bump stop and frame? Will the ses spacers work with the active offroad stops? Timbren says no but looks to me all id need is new hardware.

Expert Reply:

The Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops part # TABSOSR which are a fit for a 2007 Toyota Tacoma are designed so that there is more space between the spring and frame to allow the suspension to articulate freely when off-road. If you're looking for a spring which is closer and provides support sooner you would instead want to go with the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TTORTUN4 which is designed to sit around 1/2" to 1-1/2" from the frame. If the truck has been lifted you can use the Spacer Kit for Timbren Suspension Enhancement System part # T68MR on the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System to fill the gap.
