Troubleshooting Kwikee Steps Not Functioning After Replacing Motor and Control Unit
Question:
We have a 2021 Winnebago Forza 36H and the steps quit working. We have replaced both the motor and the electronic control module but the steps still will not work. Any suggestions or ideas? Thank you!

It sounds like you may have a power issue getting to the Steps # LC3725791 on your 2021 Winnebago Forza 36H RV Motorhome. On the steps you will have a 12 gauge red wire which runs to a 12 volt power source. There is also a 16 gauge yellow wire which runs to an ignition source to let the steps know when the ignition is on. Do note that Winnebago may have changed the colors of the wire off of the Kwikee harness so be sure to trace the wiring from the steps back. You should find an inline fuse as well as a disconnect switch on the main power wire.
Also be sure to check the green ground wire as it connects to the chassis. There may be some corrosion built up between the ring terminal and the frame which is preventing a good ground connection.
Finally be sure you have the correct Replacement Motor # LC380073 and Control Unit # LC379146 for your steps.
