Adding 4-Way to R-Pod for Light Kit on Bike Rack
Question:
We haul our bicycles on a rack off the rear hitch of our Rpod trailer. With the bikes loaded, the lights on the back of the Rpod are blocked, so I like to mount remote taillights on the Saris bike rack. I dont have a problem making and attaching simple L brackets to the Saris rack and it looks like I could use your kit #50124 for the lights. Is there any other basic, universal light kit you would recommend? As for wiring, I was thinking Id just tap into each the Rpod taillights and run wires down through the floor of the Rpod in the back and then bring the wires together in a 4 prong connector assuming I can figure which wire is which!. Does that sound reasonable? Thanks.

The Cargo Carrier Light Kit # 52014 is a good light kit but I you might consider looking at the Curt Auxiliary LED Indicator Lights # C53201 instead because they install by via adhesive instead of brackets and the lights have connectors that will be a little easier to disconnect.
When it comes to adding a 4-Way wiring to the back of your R-Pod I recommend using the Junction Box Kit # 3430001-JBK on the tongue of your trailer. This gives you the ability to cut and splice the original wiring on your trailer in a clean and organized way and then route additional wiring wherever it's needed by just making a connection to the post inside the box. You can use a length of 4-Bonded Wire # 16-4B-1 (sold by the foot) and run it form the box to the back of your R-Pod to the 4-Way Connector # 18252 for the light kit.
