Parts Needed to Add Electric Brakes to 3,500 lb Trailer Axle that will See Salted Roads
Question:
I am looking for complete trailer brakes for a 3500 axle? What do you recommend for a trailer used on salted roads? Thank you

Expert Reply:
For a 3,500 lb trailer axle that will see salted roads I would recommend the galvanized hub/drum part # AKHD-545-35-G-K which will do a much better job fighting corrosion than a painted hub. There aren't any galvanized brake assemblies available but the Dexter assemblies are known to hold up really well so for that I would recommend the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust part # 23-468-469 which also happen to be self adjusting so you'd never have to mess with brake adjustments.
