Does Brophy 2 inch to 1-1/4 inch Hitch Adapter # HT02 Reduce Weight Capacity of Hitch
Question:
The screw for the adaptor sleeve for my bike rack broke and I was unable to extract the screw, so I can no longer use the adaptor sleeve for my 2 in hitch. What adaptor would you recommend to replace it? also , would you recommend a anti rattle screw and if so which one? Finally, I understand that using an adaptor reduces your towing by half, is the Tongue weight or towing capacity? Thanks,

To go from a 2 inch hitch size down to a 1-1/4 inch an adapter like the Brophy part # HT02 would work really great. Unlike some hitch adapters this one does not affect the towing capacities of the hitch. So you would not lose any capacity. An anti-rattle hitch lock like the # 63232 would work great to get rid of movement as well as lock the hitch adapter and your rack to the vehicle hitch.
