Which Hole On My Hitch Opening is the Hitch Pin

Question:

I purchased a two inch hitch and a bike rack. On the side of the hitch, there are two holes. Which hole do I put the bolt into? Also, is there a locking system that I can purchase for the bike rack.

Sounds like you have a hitch that is set up for a j-pin style of anti-sway.. The rearmost hole on the hitch opening will be a little bit larger and that is the correct hole to use for the hitch pin of your bike rack.

Most anti-rattle devices for bike racks are specific to that manufacturer and model of bike rack. If you email me back with the bike rack you have I can see what we offer that would work.

I have a reese cqt63144 4 bike carrier it's on a 1 1/4 hitch and it wobbles a bit because it is not exactly a tight fit ...it came with a anti rattle pin but still a little loose

To further tighten up that connection I recommend adding the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061-125. As long as your hitch receiver features a collar this will work perfectly to drastically reduce that wobble you're getting with the Reese carrier.

@ChrisR Can you use the smaller J-pin hole with a bike rack, and the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch, to keep it from wobbling up when hitting bumps? The bike rack (platform type) contacts the bumper when it is in its stowed position. Thanks.

I have a swagman xc2 and I bought the anti wobble pin but it's just a little bit small for the larger hole on my hitch, so my rack still wobbles. Do you have something better?

Can you tell me what specific anti-rattle pin you purchased? I want to make sure I don't recommend the same thing...
