Parts Needed to Add Electric Trailer Brakes to Trailer With 3,500 lb Axle

Need help finding break kit for my trailer. It's a 3500 axle. The bolt pattern is 5 on 4 1/2. Its a 2019 wells cargo 6x12 enclosed trailer, single axle with no breaks, if that helps.

We can get your trailer with a 3,500 lb axle set up with electric brakes, and the first thing you'll need to do is be sure your axle has a 4-bolt brake mounting flange. If not, you can have one welded to the axle beam, but if you already have one you won't need it. I'll go ahead and list out all the parts needed:

- Hub and Drum: Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3,500-lb Axles - 10" Diameter - 5 on 4-1/2 # 84546UC3

- Brake Mounting Flange for 2-3/8" Round Axle # 4-35

- Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 10" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 3,500 lbs # AKEBRK-35-SA

- Mounting Hardware for 10" Brake Assemblies # BRKH10B

- Bright Way Push-to-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit # 3802308

You will need to run wire from your 7-way junction box # 3375601100 with Deka Jacketed 2 Wire, 10 Gauge, Brake Wire # 10-2-1 (sold per foot) and connect them it the brake assemblies with Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector - 12-10 Gauge # DW05745-5.

For the brake circuit of your trailer you will want to run 10 gauge wire like our part #10-1-1 which is sold by the foot and is standard copper primary wire. We use it all the time here on trailers and it works great. For bonded 14 gauge wire that…
