Troubleshooting An EC Error Code On A Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater

Question:

We can not get the unit to light. We have checked everything we get a code of E0 for a split second then EC stays on the control. We even tried to turn the power off on the control and to does cut off.

On a Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater # LSB64FR an E0 error means that the outlet temperature probe is open or shorted and EC means that there is a communication error between the thermostat/controller and the unit. I recommend first checking your wiring to ensure that there isn't any loose or damaged connections.

The two blue wires need to be connected to the two wires on the thermostat for it to properly communicate. I recommend checking your ground as well, as a bad ground can cause all sorts of electrical errors. If the controller senses anything wrong it's going to prevent the unit from igniting to prevent any further damage so the communication issue needs to be fixed first before we can diagnose any other issues.

If all of your wiring is good then you may just have a bad thermostat/controller and will want to reach out to the manufacturer for a warranty replacement.
