Troubleshooting A Fogatti Tankless Water Heater That Isn't Lighting And Isn't Displaying Error Codes

Question:

the wired controller is not displaying correctly. It does not display the gas source code. Nor does it display the fan, shower, or flame lites. It only will display the number for temperature. When turning the unit on, there is a click sound but nothing else happens. The wired controller give no error codes etc. The unit it installed correctly as the instructions and the way the old unit came out.

If the ignitor isn't actually lighting up on your Fogatti Tankless Water Heater then either the propane isn't at the correct pressure or the ignitor is bad. I would start by having a technician check the gas pressure to ensure you're getting 11" WC. If not your regulator will need to be adjusted or replaced.

Once we know the gas pressure is correct we can start ruling out other things, such as the power, ground, and communication between the unit and controller. You'll want to ensure that the ground is ran straight to the trailer frame and that you're getting 12 volts at the unit. The communication wires need to be separately ran between the controller and unit. Some people like to twist them together and just use one wire between the unit and controller and this can cause communication errors.

Once all of this is checked and in working order I would then contact the manufacturer to further troubleshoot/replace the unit since the issue would have to be internal at this point.

Installed a new control board, and still no spark and no shower flame or fan icon n display monitor. Hear a click when powered on. Also rescrewed the ground to a aluminum rail. Any ideas?

@Mark If you've ensured you're getting enough gas pressure, water pressure, and 12 volts to the unit then you likely have a sensor issue and would need to reach out to Fogatti. Aluminum isn't the best for grounding so I really recommend grounding to steel instead.
