Matte black, powder coated steel is durable and corrosion resistant and creates a rugged look.Installed on my 94 Wrangler. Impressed with the quality. Beautiful welds. Installed with no issues. But may I suggest you clean up the 7/16 [bottom] bolt holes in your frame with a tap and some lubricant. Mine were never used prior and had some rust. And they are captured with no access from behind, so you have to get this right.
Hitch is very well made and heavy duty. I have used it for the past year and it has worked flawlessly. Would definitely purchase again. Very very happy with it!
Easy in stall, put factory bumper nubs back on. I like the product.

Easy to order looks great bolt holes lined right up and I have used it several times a GREAT product at a great price I would definitely recommend this product.
i had to rem out the holds on the jeep they didn't line up and made them larger to 1/2 " in stead of 3/8 for a hitch. the bolts looked to small i went to get 1/2". it was heavy so it should be well build, the welds looked good. the power coating was excellent to me.i would go with next size for 1/2" bolts size,it might give you a little extra room for adjustment. THANK YOU !!

Everything lined up easily
Hitch is built very strong.
Install was a bit painful due to the way the Jeep bumperettes bolt to the rear frame with poor access to the bolt heads, but that's not the receiver's fault. Once installed, it's been perfect for hauling bikes and towing a small utility trailer. No flexing or other issues.
EXCEPTIONAL service and product!! I asked for delayed delivery so someone would be there to receive. They couldnt be more accommodating.
I couldnt believe how well it was boxed! All hardware and instructions were included. I had ordered this hitch 2 weeks earlier but had to cancel the next day due to vehicle unavailability. The people could not have been more pleasant and helpful! Re- ordering 2 weeks later was a pleasure as they pulled it up on the screen. This is one professional outfit, folks. Dont even think about going anywhere else!!!
Trailer hitch for husband's jeep My husband recently purchased a 1993 Jeep as a weekend toy. It did not have a hitch for him to haulk his other toy (4-wheeler and trailer). After looking at several choices, I purchased a class III hitch and wiring system for him as a Christmas present. I received email confirming my order as well as another email letting me know that it had been shipped.The item arrived QUICKLY and was packaged securely. this has been a very good hitch, towing a 2500 pound boat motor And trailer rigwith my older jeep wrangler, and the light hook up was very simple and straight forward , very good clear instructions It takes less than an hour and a half to put it on, and another 30 minutes to attach the wiring harness no big deal, nothing tricky about it. My budget is limited so this was a life saver as well as money saver, thankyou for your products I will be buying more.Joel
As indicated, the hitch went on 'without a hitch' other than my hands were too big to get the nuts started, at least I did not have to put a wrench on them once I did manage to get them on. It looks great and I am excited to now have the capability to tow my small utility trailer and perhaps get a bike rack for the hitch. Thanks etrailer, for the fast service and complete shipping.

Solid hitch, quick and easy to install
Product was exactly as advertised. The video made installation quick. The item is made from heavy steel and looks of good quality. The wiring harness installed easily without any problems. I was very pleased with the quick delivery, quality of item and ease of installation. It was a turn-key job. Thanks. I will recommend. I would send a picture, but I had the trailer hitch installed before I thought about doing a before and after picture.
Fit like a glove. The two 7/16-14 bolts on the underside needed to be cleaned and tapped out as they were never used and 21 years of driving left the holes a tad clogged. Suggest having a thread reamer or tap for those 2 underside holes . The threaded holes on the face were already being used for the U bumpers , no problem ,remove and put in new bolts provided to mount hitch. I have made several purchases from E-trailer over the last five or six years, all of them had one thing in common, PLEASE THE CUSTOMER.I,ll still shop around towing stuff, but it always comes back to these guys
This is a very nice trailer hitch. It mounts very easily on a 87 Jeep Wrangler. The holes are in the right place, it was easy to put on, less than 30 minutes required, and is much stronger than the rear frame member it is attached to, what passes for a bumper on old Jeeps. It was shipped very quickly, and packed very well. I could not be happier.No pictures required, it looks just like the video.
2nd Hitch I have purchased, 1 for 2010 Escape, 1 for 1989 Jeep. Both fit as advertised, the instructions made the installation quick and simple. Purchased the trailer wiring harness for both, same results, installation videos were great, made the install smooth.Absolutely would recommend to anyone willing to "do it yourself"
Bumper hitch fits well and easy to install. this unit will allow me to use my bumper insert canoe carrier as well to pull a small trailer.Service is great from Etrailer and installation vidio was a great help to install the hitch.Thanks Etrailer.
The bolts for the bottom didn't seem to fit, so I used the 2 of the other 8 for the bottom holes. So I was left 2 bolts short. Thought about drilling the bottom holes out, but the smaller bolts seemed to fit perfect ?!?The wiring harness that I got with it requires me to split the tail lights, should have gotten a harness that I could just plug in.
The hitch was perfect and exactly what I was looking for I was able to put the bumperettes back on. Easy installation and had a nice finish coat to it. The hitch looks great and your emails to make sure I was updated was also great I will recommend you to everyone I know looking for trailer parts your second to none in ordering parts Thank You very much Joe Ciavattone
As expected and was an easy install, granted my fuel tank was already removed during a restoration. So access to 4 of the bolts was much easier.
Product was as described and installation was just as described. Even put the hoop bumpers back on and you hardly notice the hitch. Also was able to use the bolts that came with the hitch and did not need longer ones to reuse the bumpers. Great experience all round with E-Trailer and will use them again.
From the order taken over the phone, to the next day delivery(do they have ESP?), and the install was perfect. Took me 30 minutes and that included removing the bumper rounds. One item of note, I should have chased the threads on the 2 bolts that fasten on the bottom of the hitch. I broke one of those Grade 6 bolts, and had to weld the hole up. No way to extract the broken bolt.Great hitch! Awesome customer service!
