What Hitch Is Best For My 2016 Subaru Outback Wagon
Question:
Hi, Im wondering how Draw-Tite 76227, Ecohitch 306-X7601, and Curt C13410 compare for a 2016 Subaru Outback. I understand the Curt may need stabilizer straps, do the others require straps? Any other key differences other than price?

When it comes to which hitch is best for your 2016 Subaru Outback Wagon The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Custom Fit - Class III - 2 inch # C13410 work work out best. All three hitches for your vehicle are all hidden underneath your vehicle, so it looks cleaner on your vehicle. The main difference is that the Curt Hitch has a higher tongue weight rating then the other two and is made in the USA . It has a 2 inch by 2 inch receiver, it has a gross towing weight of up to 4,000 pounds and a tongue weight rating up to 600 pounds. Per your manual the proper towing capacity for your vehicle is between 2,700 and 3,000 pounds.
I also recommend The Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # HM11143865. Its a simple plug and play harness that comes out as a 4 flat connector which will make your vehicle lights and your trailer lights to be in unison when you brake or turn on your turn signals.
I have attached an installation video on both the trailer hitch and wiring harness below.
