Recommendation Thule Crossbars That Mount On Factory Rails To Support Roof Top Tent

Looking to install a rooftop tent on a THULE roof rack system. Which would you advise and are there specific clamps needed? I have an ARB touring rtt and have previously used on the factory rails - 2017 Subaru Outback with the factory rails/adjustable crossbars. The clearance under the stock bars is not much and makes it for a pain to secure the rtt. Thank you.

I think I follow what you are wanting, you have a 2017 Outback Wagon with the factory rails and bars installed, you have been using your ARB RTT with this set-up but want aftermarket cross bars with greater height from the roof of the vehicle.

I suggest that you start with the Fit Kit for Thule Podium-Style Roof Rack Feet, # THKIT4063. This fit kit lets you mount Thule Rapid Podium-style feet to your vehicle with factory roof-rack tracks. You will use this kit with the Rapid Podium Feet for Thule Crossbars, # TH460R.

I suggest either the 53" long Thule WingBar Evo Crossbar Aluminum/Silver, # TH711400 or Aluminum/Black with the part number, # TH711420.

With this your ARB Roof Top Tent should mount just fine with existing hardware and provide you improved clearance between the tent vehicles roof.
