How Much Bar Space is Needed to Use 2 Thule Hullavators on Roof Rack

Question:

Hi there, I want to mount 2 hullavators on 2018 Toyota 4Runner. What length crossbars are needed? Can I use Yakima? Will the 53” bars be long enough for 2 hullavators pro 898’s. Kayaks are 28- 30” wide. Already have raised rails on top of truck Thank you

I may have a solution for you, but your 53" bars are not going to be sufficient for this task. The Thule Hullavator # TH898 requires 28.5" of usable bar space with 4"-8" outside of the rails/towers, in order to function properly; so in order to use 2 Hullavators you'd need bars at least 57" long. The Hullavator will fit on round bars, square bars and aero bars with channels on the tops of them like the Rhino-Rack # RRVA150B-2 (59" long).

If you have factory cross bars, unless they extend outside of the side rails, you would need to get an aftermarket roof rack system and cross bars with the appropriate length. If you can give me a little bit more information about the roof rack system you've got on your 2018 Toyota 4Runner I can help you choose the correct parts that will work with your current roof rack.

I've also linked all of our cross bars that are 76" or longer for you to search through and see what is available.
