Since the controls are coming on for your Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater # LSB64FR it sounds to me like the unit may not be receiving the correct amount of gas pressure for the pilot to ignite. This unit requires a minimum pressure of 8" WC and a maximum pressure of 13" WC. Any pressure outside of that range will cause the # LSB64FR to not properly work.

Also, you'll want to ensure that you removed the gas inlet cap before hooking up the gas as that could be the reason if you forgot to remove it. You'd still be able to smell gas coming from the connection but none would be getting into the unit.

If you aren't receiving the correct amount of gas pressure the issue could lie with your regulator. In this case you would need to replace the regulator.

Depending on your setup if you have a larger single tank you could need a vertical 2 stage regulator like the MB Sturgis Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator - 11" Water Column Outlet Item # 108220 or a horizontal 2 stage regulator like the MB Sturgis Horizontal 2-Stage Propane Regulator - 11" Water Column Outlet Item # 108221.

If you have a dual tank system you could need the Automatic Changeover RV LP Gas Regulator Item # 37207-30395.

You'll want to have a certified technician complete the install of the regulator to ensure the safety of you and your equipment.
