Differences Between Curt Trailer Hitches for 2022 Ford Escape
Question:
I see that you show the # C23FR as a fit for the 2022 Ford Escape, but you used to sell a # CU56FR. What's the difference between the two?

Expert Reply:
Both the # C23FR (Curt 13454) and the CU56FR (Curt 13436) are fits for a 4th generation Ford Escape, however the CU56FR which isn't a fit for the popular Escape Hybrid has been phased out in favor of the redesigned # C23FR which DOES fit the hybrid.
If you'll be using the hitch for towing, you'll also need a trailer wiring harness like # TE54FR, a ball mount like # D-28 along with a # PC3 hitch pin and # 40038 for a 1-7/8 or # 63845 for a 2 inch trailer ball.
I've linked to install instructions and step by step videos for the # C23FR hitch and the # TE54FR trailer wiring harness.
