Magnetic Door Switch Works Opposite Of What It Is Supposed To

Question:

I have a 2011 Newmar Bay Star RV with electric steps. The label on the step frame says Coach Step DBL-STANDARD and LCI Model # 171317. The control module is LCI-164889 and motor LCI-163669 was replaced with 300-1406. I have found conflicting info on how the magnetic door switch operates. Door open = switch closed and door open = switch closed. According to Newmar, the magnetic door switch replacement is #72851, or vendor part #165041. I just replaced the control module and motor, and steps are still not working. I ordered switch #369299, but it works opposite of my current switch. I have tested all wiring, and this is my last item. Can you tell me which one I need, 369299 or 301694? Thank you

If you ordered and tested the Replacement Magnetic Door Sensor for Kwikee Electric RV Steps # LC369299 and they work backwards, then you need the Replacement Door Switch for Lippert for Lippert Electric Coach Step # LC301694.

Lippert makes two switches that work opposite of each other, one completes the circuit when they are connected, and the other opens when they are connected.
