Replacement Door Switch Magnets for Lippert Trailer or Coach Steps

Question:

I installed a new controller last year and it worked fine for a while. Then it work intermittingly and now it doesnt work at all. I hot wired the step motor and the step goes up and down. the magnets where not replaced. How can I check this system to determine where my problem lies?

Since you replaced the controller and it worked fine and then stopped, I assume that you have a door switch that has gone bad due to magnet failure. If you have the coach steps, you want the Replacement Door Switch for Lippert Electric Coach Step # LC301694. If you have the Kwikee steps, you want # LC369299.

Obviously the motor and the linkage are not the issue as you have them functioning with the switch. You can check the controller by reconnecting it and using the switch as you door magnets to ensure the magnets are the issue. If not, then your controller went bad extremely quickly which is rare.
