Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch for 2022 Ram 3500 That Has More Than 16K Capacity
Question:
I would like to get a fifth wheel hitch for towing with my 2022 Ram 3500. Right now we have a pretty light 5th wheel but I want to get a hitch with more than a 16K rating because I can see us getting a larger RV in the nearish future. What do you recommend? I don't have the puck system.

I recommend going with the B&W Companion setup for your 2022 Ram 3500. This involves using the Gooseneck Hitch # BWGNRK1320-5W and then either the Sliding Companion # BWRVK3400-5W (for a short bed) or Fixed Companion # BWRVK3500-5W (for a long bed). Both hitches are rated for 20K so you will have well over that 16K capacity.
The Companion hitches are arguably the best on the market due to their excellent construction and ride quality, plus they have 1" thick dual jaws that secure the king pin so you don't get any kind of slop when you come to a stop or take off. I really like that this installs in the gooseneck hitch because you gain the ability to tow a gooseneck trailer if the need ever arises and it also means that when you aren't towing you will have a completely clean and free bed space.
One other thing I do recommend checking out is an in-bed 7-Way like what we find with the Bargman # 50-97-410. This wiring kit gives you a 7-Way socket in your truck bed which makes it easier to connect your wiring from your 5th wheel plug it means there is less likely of a chance that the wiring can get stretched.
