Today we're gonna take a look at the heat shield for the Access Rockstar mudflaps. Now this is a stainless steel plate that'll attach to your Access Rockstar mudflaps to protect it from exhaust heat. It is designed to fit the standard, the XL, the 2XL, or the 3XL size mudflaps from Access. It's perfect for modified exhaust systems and for dually trucks. The stainless steel installation hardware's all included. This will attach to the exhaust side of the mudflap with those bolts, nuts, and lock washers.
And you can see at the very top has bend in it, so it's made to actually bolt flat up against the mudflap this way, so when the exhaust hits it, it'll deflect it away from the mudflap itself. This part is made in the USA.Give you a few dimensions on this. It does come with a nice set of detailed instructions that'll describe how to install it to the mudflaps. So the overall width on this is gonna be right at 15 inches. The height up to where the bend starts is right at 10 inches.
And if we include the measurement with the bend, it's all the way up to 12 inches.But that should do it for the review on the heat shield for Access Rockstar mudflaps.

The assembly is good quality of the parts is excellent. They need to be a little bit different in dimensions to fit certain trailer hitches. Solid square section trailer, hitches that are rated for more weight don’t come long enough in the situation of a 2005 Chevy Silverado 3500 to get the pin in for the receiver. So some modification was necessary.

this mud flap system is great. hadn't thought about having them a year already. Have not had a single issue with them I would buy these again before any other mud flaps on the market! Fantastic adjustment for width. I give it two 5 star reviews so make it 10 stars.

Great idea that just didn't work. After melting thru my 1st mud flap from hot exhaust, I ordered this heat shield with a new replacement flap. It still melted thru at the bolts. I cannot recommend using it with a late model Chevy (with the diesel exhaust that comes out rearward instead of to the side).

Works well to protect my RoadWing mudflaps. Now I don't need to move the exhaust.

Installed on a Duallyguard mud flap. Heat shield added enough weight to throw the entire mud flap out of balance. Now the problem is I cannot uninstall. Bolt just turns in the rubber. I now have a heat shield I cannot use and also a Duallyguard mud flap that now is not usable. Both items brand new.

Have not towed anything yet so I don’t definitely know that it will keep the mud flap from melting. But it does look like it will do the job.

These 12" flaps will give you plenty of protection compared to your other options.

There's no reason the Access one you mentioned couldn't be used but the gap the Rock Tamers kit creates between it and the flap will do a much better job preventing heat transfer.

I would highly recommend going with the Heat Shield for Access Rockstar Mud Flaps part # A80807 with your truck. I can't imagine why they wouldn't recommend this for a GM truck but it's going to be your best option.

- Exhaust Tip And Excess Heat While Using Rock Tamers The Heavy Duty Rock Tamers are not a vehicle specific design, meaning neither we nor rock tamers test fit the products on particular vehicles. The fitment is based off of the hitch size. You will want to use part # ERT00108 for 2" hitches and part # ERT00110 for 2-1/2" hitch receivers. If you do find the the exhaust tip and gasses are too close for comfort to your mud flaps, you can use Heat Shield for Access Rockstar Mud Flaps part # A80807.
