Bleeding Electric Over Hydraulic Trailer Brakes without a Compatible Brake Controller

Question:

I have a prodigy p3 in my truck but I just put it in the shop last night not thinking I was supposed to bleed my brakes on my trailer today. Can I still bleed them by connecting it to my other truck with just a primus IQ that is not able to accommodate electric over hydraulic brake systems?

You can still bleed the trailer brakes without a compatible brake controller. But you cannot use the Primus brake controller because it will not work sufficiently enough to properly bleed the trailer brakes. What you will need to do is use a 12 volt battery. The power and ground wires for the electric over hydraulic actuator will be connected to the battery like normal. To make the actuator run to bleed the brakes you will need to touch the blue brake output wire to the positive battery post. That will make the actuator run and will simulate power output from the brake controller.
