Different Chain hanging Brackets for Weight Distribution on a V-Nose Trailer

Question:

I have the minimum distance for the lift brackets on my trailer, but the v nose interferes with the clamping bolt on the back side of the bracket. The bolt seems excessive in length for most applications. Do you recommend I use a shorter clamping bolt? or drilling and permanently mounting the lift bracket through the outside?

What I recommend is to use some chain hangers that bolt to the side of the trailer frame, # RP58305. This method should provide you with brackets that are easier to install when compared to the regular brackets that might require trailer modification to properly install. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you.

Other option, if there is any free space where the brackets need to go, is chain hangers with skinny brackets, # RP58306. The thin brackets are more versatile than the traditional brackets and could be a good option for you. I can't give you permission to use smaller bolts with the lift brackets simply because they haven't been tested. The long bolts you refer to are that length because of C-channel trailer frames.
