How to Mount Weight Distribution Chain Lift Brackets on Trailer with Crossbeam
Question:
I have a 6x12 cargo trailer. the snap up brackets do not go back far enough for the chains to hang vertical because of the crossbeam at the tongue. They are about 3 1/2 inches off center. What options do I have. If you can help.

Expert Reply:
Weight Distribution lift brackets can sometimes interfere with a trailer's structural components or with certain frame-mount accessory items like propane tanks. Reese offers a set of chain hangers that bolt on to the sides of your trailer frame, part # RP58305. These chain hangers include extra installation hardware to provide a good fit on various sizes of trailer frame.
