Correct Curt Weight Distribution System for 2020 Airstream Basecamp X
Question:
I’m looking for a WDH. My tow vehicle is a 2018 Ford Raptor with aftermarket Deaver HD leaf springs extra 500 pound carry capacity. I have a topper on my truck that weighs 300-350 pounds. My trailer is a 2020 airstream basecamp X. Listed tongue weight 435 pounds. Max trailer weight 3500 pounds. Is this a good option or should I look at something else?

The Curt Weight Distribution System with Shank part # C17341 would be a good option for a 2020 Airstream Basecamp X. The weight of the items in the bed also needs to be factored into choosing the correct weight distribution system so this option gives you a good safety margin. It could still be used even if you were to remove the truck bed camper as well.
Please note, I took a look at the tongue of the trailer and there appears to be a large cover so you can either modify this or change out the brackets for the Chain Hangers for Curt Weight Distribution Systems part # C17005. The 2" Hitch Ball part # A-90 would then likely be needed to complete the setup.
