How to Hook a Cargo Trailer Up to Shore Power

Question:

I have a cargo trailer that I would like to add 110 volt shore power via external plug. The trailer currently has 12v switches and circuit breakers from Blue Seas. Power comes from Warn quick connec on my truck. What will I need to bring the power down to 12v and are any other switches needed? Thank you

In order to wire your cargo trailer for both 12 volt DC and 110 volt AC power you would need to install a AC/DC distribution panel and power converter which we currently do not offer. You would then wire the 12 volt power to the converter along with all of your 110 volt outlets.

In order to hook up to shore power you would first need to install a power inlet like the Epicord 30 Amp Twist Lock Power Inlet part # 277-000138. Once the power inlet is installed you would then need an electrical cord that goes from the 30 amp male twist lock to the 110 volt female power outlet. In order to do this you would need to use a combination of the Mighty Cord RV Power Cord with Handle part # A10-3025ED90 and the Mighty Cord Dogbone RV Power Cord Adapter part # A10-1530HVP.
