Your 2002 Caravan owners manual is a good place to start.
Review the rated towing capacity for the vehicle according to the manufacturer. I checked an online copy of the manual and it indicates that the maximum gross towing weight (GTW) rating for the 3.3L model is 1800 lbs unless the vehicle is equipped with a factory tow package, in which case the capacity increases to 3800 lbs. Again, refer to your owners manual to confirm your vehicle tow rating.
If your boat/trailer combination weighs in the vicinity of 5000 lbs I cannot recommend towing it with your 2002 Caravan.
Just for reference I have attached a link to our product page for the highest-rated hitch available for your vehicle (from Curt, part # C13362). This has a maximum gross towing weight rating of only 4000 lbs, which also is not adequate for a 5000-lb trailer load.
I have also linked several articles on hitch receivers and the components required for towing.
