How to Find Correct Replacement Hub and Bearings for Boat Trailer
Question:
Hello, Is it possible to determine the hub and bearing kit needed for a boat trailer without removing the existing hub? I have a 2004 Trailstar by Tracker Marine trailer that I want to purchase a spare hub assemble for to keep as in case of an emergency situation. Thank you for your assistance.

In order to find the correct replacement hubs and bearings you will unfortunately have to remove the existing hub. Once you remove the hub you may be able to find the part numbers on the inner and outer bearing along with the grease seal. If this is not the case, you will need to take some measurements.
You also need to know the weight rating of your axle as well as the bolt pattern. From the picture it looks like your bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2.
You want to use a digital caliper like # PTW80157 to take these measurements. You will need the measurement from the grease seal seat, inner bearing seat and outer bearing seat. I have attached a picture showing where these measurements are marked B, C and D. The picture also shows where you can typically find the part numbers.
If you provide me with this information I would be happy to help you find the correct hub and bearings for your boat trailer.
