Lug Nut Torque to Use for Trailer Wheel Based on Stud Size
Question:
How much torque to use for lug bolts for these wheels: Kenda 5.70-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8 White Wheel - 4 on 4 - Load Range D Item # AM30153. Thanks

Expert Reply:
You likely have 1/2 inch studs on the trailer hub based on your tire size. For 1/2 inch you will want to torque the lug nuts to 75 - 85 foot pounds.
For 9/16 inch lug nuts torque them to 135 - 145 foot pounds.
And for 5/8 inch lug nuts torque them to 175 - 225 foot pounds.
