These low-profile, lightweight cable chains are great for driving in light snow. Perfect for those trips where you need chains "just in case." Designed to fit passenger vehicles with tight clearance around the wheels.

Note: To determine whether you can use snow chains on your vehicle, or if chains might affect your ABS/ESP functionality, consult your owner's manual.
These chains are great for giving you a little extra traction in the snow. But if you live somewhere where you experience heavy snow often, you'll definitely want something more heavy duty than cables. Because these cable chains are lightweight and don't take up a lot of storage space, they are also perfect for keeping in your trunk if you occasionally travel through areas that require you to have chains on hand.
SAE Class S tire chains are designed for use on passenger vehicles with restricted wheel-well clearance. Most newer cars, vans, and small trucks - especially those with large aftermarket tires - will require Class S chains. If you're unsure about the class of your vehicle, consult your vehicle's user manual.
These chains will fit your tires provided there is both:
If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new cable chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.
We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow cables that don't fit.
You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. Even these low-profile cables can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.
Installing cable chains is easy.
1. Lay out the chains on the ground to make sure there are no twists or kinks in the cables.
2. Where each cross cable attaches, you'll notice there is a smooth side and one with an edge. Make sure the smooth side faces in to sit against your tire's sidewall as you drape the cables over your tire.
3. On the front of the tire, feed the cable through the connection loop until it's tight, then use the lever to keep the extra cable from flapping as you drive. Repeat this on the backside of the tire.
Rubber adjusters (sold separately) are recommended to help ensure a tight fit. Connect these to the front side of the cable in a star pattern. Make sure the hooks face away from your tire so your wheels don't get scratched.
Quick Tips:
To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire.

Haven't used yet but have the incase needed put on a couple times in the driveway 2008 Trailblazer Lt w 3lt 4wd driving from West Texas to Anchorage Alaska pain to get back in the bag but doable had to reroute front Abs sensor wiring for clearance . Owners manual says no but they do fit just barley . Ordered 2 pairs . I have 245 55 18
Worked great.
Being an all wheel drive vehicle, they only fit on our rear tires. I was told they should go on the front, but the rear seemed to work out.
This product had good review so I purchased, however I do not recommend using for SUV or regular sedan. I put them on my 2015 Honda Pilot at Sequoia National Park and there were not enough traction. My tire spun but we were only going side to side. It fit perfect and looked really good, it was easy installation.
I had to go down to town and purchased a different type of chain. The thick linked chain type and it worked great. As I was driving into the Sequoia Park, there were at least 5 vehicles stranded either chain broken, or not enough traction and spun side to side. They all were using the similar type of chains as these.
Used the cables last winter, it was particularly snowy so had to drive about an hour with the cables on, which is unique for California. The only issue I had was the locking mechanism kept coming loose which loosened the cable and caused some thumping. It's a little complex getting the orientation right, but never had a traction problem. These were used on a Ford Explorer and were pretty easy to get on and off.

Thanks for the follow up William. I did want to let you know that a set of adjusters something like the # PW105 might help with the fit issues you are noticing.

Hi, Nice quality of tire chain which fits different sizes and nicely fits my Hyundai Santa Fe SE tream 18 inch tires. Installation is easy with available tension system which allows you to make a tension of chain without any extra tools. Nice looking and does not touch the rims. Highly recommended.

Hi I have the same vehicle with the same size tires. Did you purchase the rubber adjusters and use them? I dont want to spend on items that wont be needed. Thanks in advance!Ed
I haven't had to use the product yet, but my experience with etrailer to shop, purchase and receive the item was excellent, and just in time for my road trip to Lake Tahoe!
I am writing this after recieving a 1 year follow up email from etrailer. I purchased tire chains "just in case" for a trip to the mountains last year and have not yet had to use them. They are a quality product that I have kept for that purpose. I have ordered from trailer in the past and would do so in the future. Great customer service!
I bought these tires for a Christmas trip and drove a long 18 hours to visit family. I was very pleased with the service from staff at Etrailer as they understood my concern to have it shipped to me in time to make my trip. I tested the chains out for my lexus rx350 and the chains fit perfectly. I did not end up going through any snowing days so I did not have to use them thankfully, but I will keep them for any future trips and I am glad they fit my tires because my greatest concern was the fit as there were so many options online and trailer was one of the few that allowed me to find the right chains by choosing the type of car i have.
First time i deal with a vendor that is so efficient. Called their helpline to get info on the right size of rubber adjustors i needed for the PW2029C snow chain tires. Mark M. answered my question and gladly asked me if he could finish my order that i had started online. I think when you call a place like this and they offer such great service, you will still order their product even if they charge taxes and delivery for out of state orders. Thank you Mark M. for great service and my order arrived as promised, ready for the snow this weekend.

Hello there, have only test fitted the chains. Did not use them since roads were cleared. I would recommend the larger rubber adjustors.
Chains arrived very quickly, faster than predicted and anticipated. Great communication from eTrailer, and lots of info on website
The chains do fit onto the front tires of my 2007 Honda Pilot EX, but I had to make an alteration to keep the interior hook from hitting the strut tube, which is very close to the tire. I flattened the "F" shape hook down to a much flatter profile, which seems to work, although it is still very close to the tube upon rotation.
I think these are a good product, but you might consider looking into the 'V' profile version as another option, if the clearances of the interior latch might be better.
Overall, fantastic company, great customer service, would highly recommend them. I will post pictures or updates as I use the chains more often.
I purchased the cables for a family trip to Telluride, CO. I am glad i did as the day before NW Texas, Colorado, and New Mexico we’re hammered with a massive winter storm. The cables were exactly what we needed to get us safely to our destination. The cables have held up flawlessly and have worked perfectly on our winter time family trips since then! I was pleasantly surprised on how well our 2wd 2017 Toyota Highlander performed with the snow cables on, and how well I was able to maintain traction and control. We took some of the sketchiest yet most beautiful roads on or way to Colorado! I led point with our caravan of 5 vehicles, and had the fewest issues with traction. I literally passed hundreds of vehicles, some more capable than our little 2wd rig. Thank you all for providing such a great product that helped keep my family safe!!!
Great product, fact service, and information and video on Web site is excellent!
The product looks good and is well packaged. I need to wait for a good winter storm before I need to use them on my new AWD Honda Pilot TrailSport. So, I don't really know yet how easy they will be to install and how well they will improve traction, but I am planning for success.
While I cannot make a comparison with other models of chains, I bought the PW 2029C as an alternative to the PW1046 which has a keeper tab for the abutments while the PW 2029C has a tensioner which provides for easier tightening in snowy road conditions, in my view, and keeps the lead chains flat against the sidewall, which the single keeper tab on the 1046 does not necessarily; although I did not experience slippage with the 1046, I worried about it.. So while both work well in my limited use, I feel much more secure with the PW2029C and its ease of assembly onto the tires, and in tightening the chains. Purchasing the multi-arm rubber adjuster I would also recommend for difficult and prolonged conditions. Customer Service at etrailer were helpful and knowledgeable and should be contacted with any questions prior to purchase.
Overall the tire chains seem pretty decent, but the way they assemble to the tire seems a sketchy. I put them on the other day to test fit them and they are extremely loose at their tightest setting. Luckily about the extra tensioners for 12 bucks which seems to help a ton. I’ve yet to use them other than in the driveway, I’m definatly a bit secpitcal about them coming loose or falling off. The carrying bag for it ripped on my first attempt to open it. Trailer was great for a supplier, quick shipping and great customer service, not 100% sold on the product tho
Bought the Glacier cable chains and rubber adjusters for my '15 Pilot 4WD as a "just in case" part of my prep to drive up north to Idaho Falls but the trip didn't happen. Delivery was timely. Did a static fitting but did not roll on the cable chains. Looked good but hard to tell without rolling on them. So for now, they're in the bag nice and clean.
Thanks for the follow up.
1. Super fast shipping - earlier than estimated delivery date.
2. Excellent customer service - they follow up with every process: after order received, after product shipped, after product delivered, follow-up and feedback. The website also share plenty of information about product review and instructions.
3. Great product - with easy carrying bag and detailed instruction.
4. Great price - this is the cheapest price I found online.
Will definitely recommend etrailer.com. :)
Did a dry test on my snow tire. the chains fit well, the only negative is that it is very difficult to latch the cable tightener onto the cable. I modified the opening with my grinder and it works well now.
Tire cable chains were useless when I needed them on Ice. They are a cable model with mini pipe on the cross cables, that roll not dig or scratch on ice. Can not use.
Doing Business with Etrailer was easy in easy out....no gimmicks and free shipping was an early present. I hope I don't have to use the tire chains but if I do - I know I can count on them to do the job. The tire chains have improved over the years and these look like they can without any doubt do the job!
Just what I needed. Easy to use, fast on, fast off, and priced right. My vehicle has low clearance between the wheels and fender wells, so these cable chains are the way to go. I'd recommend them.
We have ordered these chains for our Acura MDX for a trip to mountains and called eTrailer to let them know we need it by specific date. C/S Rep Tomy was very nice and offered us Expedited shipment free of charge. As a result we received chains on time! Thank you a lot!
I just received the product and have not had a chance to try it out, but it looks sturdy and well-made. The instructions are thorough and easy to follow. Buying cable chains from etrailer.com has been a good experience. The website makes it easy to find the chains and cables that fit your auto's tires. Shipping was prompt. They seem to be a friendly and courteous bunch at etrailer.com.

Phil, thanks so much for your review and your business. You would need to check your owners manual, but according to the manual I found online, cable chains are the only tire chains recommended for the 2015 Honda Pilot, therefore, use of any other chains would be at your discretion. The snow chains should be installed on the front wheels.
