Weight Capacity of OEM Roof Rack on 2013 Chevy Suburban
Question:
I bought 3 of these from etrailer 64710 Swagman fork mount racks for my 2003 Ford Expedition and used the factory cross bars. I now have a 2013 Chevy Suburban and would like to put them on that factory rack/cross bars. I cant seem to find any definitive weight limit and the cross bars look much thinner than the Chevy. Any feedback/thoughts? Thank you.

According to the owner's manual, the OEM roof rack on your 2013 Suburban has a 200 lb capacity. Your # S64710 Swagman Fork Down bike racks will work just fine. If the bikes you're carrying max out the 35 lb capacity of each rack, you're looking at 105 lbs plus the approximately 20 lb combined weight of the racks will leave you well below the 200 lb capacity.
To make the roof a bit easier to access, you might also be interested in a door step like the # RL100660 from Rightline.
