How to Reduce Vertical Shock and Bounce when Towing with a 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter
Question:
How do you eliminate bounce

If you are using the Reese Goose Box, # RP94716-61301 are are getting too much bounce (vertical movement) then you can reduce it by having the air bag inflated to the appropriate level. Start by filling it with 35 to 40 psi. Attach the trailer and take a look at the fill label on the side of the Goose Box.
If you can see all the way up to the yellow section on the label reduce the air pressure. If the fill label is not showing increase the air pressure (not to exceed 50 psi). You want the green section of the label to be visible.
If you are towing a trailer without the Goose Box and are using another 5th wheel to gooseneck hitch adapter you may be able to reduce vertical movement with a slightly higher pin weight (by moving some weight forward on the trailer) or by using a cushioned adapter. The Convert-a-Ball adapters # CAB-C5G and # CAB-C5GX1216 are cushioned.
