Can Brophy Ball Mount BM20 Be Used With an 18 Inch Hitch Extender
Question:
I have a 2006 Ford F-250 with a factory Class V hitch receiver. Due to a spare tire carrier mounted on my rear bumper, I need an extended hitch in order for me to clear the spare tire so I can tow a trailer Can I install together the two items below? Brophy Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 13-1/4" Long - 10K Item # BM20 Brophy Hitch Extender for 2inch Trailer Hitches - 18inch Long Item # ST18 The tongue capacity on my Class V receiver is 1,000 lbs.

You can use the Brophy 18 inch extender # ST18 and the # BM20 extended length ball mount together but using the extender will lower your hitch tongue weight and towing capacity by 33-1/3%. If your Class V OEM hitch receiver is 2-1/2 inch, you'll also need a reducer like # C45405.
