How Much Can a 2005 Subaru Baja Tow
Question:
how heavey of a trailer can the 2005 BAJA TURBO PULL ??
asked by: Dennis E
Expert Reply:
The towing capacity of 2005 Subaru Baja is listed as 1,000 lbs for trailers without brakes or 2,400 lbs for trailers with brakes. In order to tow a trailer you will need a trailer hitch like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11280, a trailer wiring harness like the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness part # HM11143875, and a ball mount/hitch ball like the Draw-Tite Drawbar part # 3590 with the 2" Hitch Ball part # 19258 and Pin and Clip part # PC2.
Since the # C11280 hitch has a 2000 lb tow limit, you would have a 1,000 tow limit for trailers without brakes(limited by the vehicle) and a 2000 lb limit for trailers with brakes(limited by the hitch). We must go by the lowest rated component in each case.
If the trailer you are looking to tow has brakes or brakes need to be added please just let me know.
