Why are Some Lights Listed as Over 80 Inches and Others Under 80 Inches  

Question:

what is the difference between trailer tail lights for under 80 vs over 80 width. My trailer is 88 wide-want to use submersible square or rectangular unit-Led. Cant find submersible/Led/square or rect.with 2 stud mount.

The reason there are trailer light kits listed for under 80 inches and over 80 inches is that there are different lighting regulations for vehicles that have widths that are larger than 80 inches in width than ones that are less than 80 inches wide. You will need to check with your local laws and regulations on trailer lighting also.

Check out the LED Submersible Right Hand Light # STL8RB and the LED Submersible Left Hand Light # STL9RB. These are stud mounted, submersible, rectangle lights that should work well for you. However, these lights are for under 80 inch applications.

The closest thing to what you need that is over 80 inches would be the # ST5RB and the # ST4RB. The only issue is that they are incandescent bulbs, not LEDs.
